History
PITT OHIO was founded in December 1978 by the Hammel brothers Robert, Kenneth, and Charles III and began operations in 1979. The company began with 3 trucks, three drivers, and one terminal in Pittsburgh. In 1982, PITT OHIO opened its second terminal in Cleveland, Ohio and have continued to open terminals in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.
PITT OHIO Truckload, powered by ECM Transport, was formed in 2005 when PITT OHIO acquired a majority interest in ECM Transport, LLC, a truckload company also located in the Pittsburgh area. ECM Transport maintains a comprehensive fleet with over 300 tractors and 1,200 trailers.

The Reliance Network
In 2007, PITT OHIO joined Lakeville Motor Express to create The Reliance Network (TRNET), a unified, across-the-continent coalition for all freight services. TRNET is a single source provider of freight forwarding for all of North America. The 6 carriers of The Reliance Network include:
